Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble and Brewskis partner on Halloween event
OCTOBER 15, 2025
Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’s upcoming PlayTastings live play reading at Brewskis Coffee & Bar in Bloomsburg will cover both the sweet and scary parts of Halloween.
BTE resident artists will perform Irish playwright Conor McPherson’s The Birds by Conor McPherson, an adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s horror story on Friday, October 24th.
The sound of wings heralded the end of human civilization. Coordinated attacks from birds have driven two strangers into a farmhouse on the fringes of what once was New England. Then, a third survivor arrives. The Irish Herald lauded McPherson’s The Birds as a “deliciously chilling” tale of paranoia. Alfred Hitchcock adapted Du Maurier’s story for the screen in 1963. The cast includes BTE Resident Artists Kimie Muroya, Aaron White, Amy Rene Byrne and Technical Director Gregor Gunelson.
Brewskis’ kitchen will also offer audiences a special treat: an unlimited dessert bar. Brewskis event coordinator Courtney Kelley said BTE and Brewskis’s are “a perfect pairing…especially in the heart of fall/spooky season.” The event begins at 7:00 PM. Admission costs $55. Admission includes unlimited desserts, coffee, and a drink. Tickets are available for purchase at ci.ovationtix.com/36961.
