Rooted Here. Imagined For Everywhere.
When Charlie Brown isn’t feeling the Christmas spirit, his (not professionally licensed) psychiatrist, Lucy Van Pelt, appoints him director of her nativity play. It turns out Charlie Brown isn’t the only one who doesn’t understand Christmas.
Nostalgic and sweet, A Charlie Brown Christmas celebrates community, earnestness, and the unconventional. Even “the crankiest Scrooge” will feel “nostalgic” after watching, said The Cape Cod Chronicle. This show runs 45 minutes, which is perfect for families with young children!

Special Performances and Events
Director’s Note
A Charlie Brown Christmas is my favorite kind of holiday story.
The Peanuts Gang falls into the commercial trap of running around, striving to make Christmas perfect, ensuring they get the gifts they want, or winning decoration contests. And as a result, Charlie Brown finds himself feeling that there's something wrong with his discontentment around the holiday season. I think we can all benefit from their reminder that the gift of ourselves to the people we love is the source of Christmas spirit. For folks who celebrate a secular holiday, that's an important re-centering. And for folks coming from a Christian tradition, that's the mandate of the Christmas story.
My hope is that folks will find a pathway to that holiday spirit by watching our show, singing carols, and chatting with family members before or after the show. The Ensemble and our community kid casts have worked hard to make this gift of ourselves for you and your family. I hope it inspires you to do the same for those in your life.
"...that's what Christmas is all about..."
Sincerely,
Aaron White
