Meet the Players

  • Abigail Leffler

    she/her/hers

Abigail is BTE's Education Director and Improv facilitator. She has been working with BTE since August 2019. She is also a mom to two wonderful children and married to a man who claims he is funnier than her. (Jury is still out on that.) She founded the Improv group in January of 2020 and is very proud of the group and their amazing spirit. She is thrilled to be at BTE offering up the silliest of performance styles, as well as educational outreach, to Bloomsburg and its surrounding areas.

  • Brian Bond

    he/him

Brian Bond is an actor, director, playwright, and educator who graduated from Bloomsburg University [BU] with a degree in Theatre Arts. Brian has been involved in theatre since middle school, playing various roles from spunky, awkward kid to singing leading man. He has also completed two educational tours with BTE, acting in Park Protectors: The Story of the Buffalo Soldiers and Discovering Frederick Douglass: The Remarkable Life of a National Leader. Alongside his many roles, some of Brian’s directing credits include work at Penn State University, BU, and Williamsport Area High School. Brian is currently pursuing a degree in Secondary Education to teach high school theatre.

Brian greatly looks forward to stepping back into improv, this being his first time since high school. Not only does he hope to bring smiles to many, he is so excited to finally be allowed to say **** and ***** on stage without being reprimanded...Okay, well maybe not the second one.

  • Crystal Comuntzis

    she/her/hers

Crystal Comuntzis is delighted to be part of an awesomely funny group of individuals. When she is not on the stage at the AKT or performing with the Berwick Black Box Theater, she can be found using her talents on a different type of stage, her classroom! She uses her love of comedy and acting (especially doing accents) to entertain not only her own children but her students as well. They seem to think she's hilarious, so she's excited to use some of her NSFS material on a different audience. She would like to thank her husband John for always giving her material to work with, and along with her friends and family, always encouraging her to pursue her dreams.

  • Renee Fawess

    she/her/hers

Renee is super stoked to be part of this outstandingly awesome, marvelously silly improv group. A 2004 graduate of Bloomsburg University, Renee has used her theatre degree in a number of ways. Daily, she uses it to entertain her toddler daughter and husband, Tom Byrn. They think she's hilarious. She is an Affiliated member of the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble and was one of their interns for the 2004/2005 season many moons ago. She has also taught theatre school, managed their box office, and gone on many TIC school tours. Making people laugh feeds her soul. She couldn't be more excited to be part of such an awe-inspiring group that makes her belly laugh with each interaction.

  • Johanna Gelbs

    she/her/hers

Who has two thumbs, loves to laugh, and is really excited to be here? This girl! (And probably you, too...) Johanna is a Senior at Bloomsburg University studying Theatre Arts with a performance emphasis. Her theatrical journey started at the age of 8, with two dreams. To grow tall and to do as much theatre as possible. Thankfully one of the two came true! Some of her favorite credits include 'Ivy', John Proctor is the Villain, 'Sponge', James and the Giant Peach, 'Belle' A Christmas Carol, and 'Rapunzel', Into The Woods. Here's to friendship and dream following.

  • Hannah Kulbitsky

    Hannah Kulbitsky

    she/they

Hannah Kulbitsky is a physically trained actor and classically trained vocalist from Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Her recent roles include Moth in Loves, Labours, Lost with Schuylkill Free Shakespeare, Allison in Crybaby at the Pottsville Majestic Theater, and Creon in Antigone at Muhlenberg College. When she is offstage, Hannah enjoys her position as the full-time Environmental Educator and Outreach Coordinator for the Schuylkill Conservation District. Come take a free hike with her!

  • Kimie Muroya 室屋季美恵

    she/her/hers

Kimie Muroya 室屋季美恵 is excited to join BTE as a full Ensemble Member and Resident Artist in Season 47! Her favorite roles at BTE have included Winnifred in Witch, G in Sanctuary City, and Sherlock Holmes in Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson—Apt. 2B.

Though most recently from Philadelphia, she went to high school in Lewisburg and interacted with BTE throughout her time there—seeing shows at the Alvina Krause Theatre, participating in workshops, and even performing in one of the summer shows! After graduating college, she spent several years in Philadelphia building a professional acting career: performing with many companies in the Philly area, co-founding the Philadelphia Asian Performing Artists, and even dabbling in some commercial and film work.

Kimie also enjoys stage combat (and is certified in four disciplines!), building with LEGO (a collection far too large to be healthy!), and playing Dungeons and Dragons (and other table-top role-playing games!). Possibly her favorite activity, however, is napping.

See more of Kimie's work at kimiemuroya.com.

  • Shawn Rosler

    Shawn Rosler

    he/him

Shawn Rosler, a native of Honesdale, PA, has always been drawn to the stage over the course of his long tenure on Earth.

Already a musician in both instrument and voice, during his high school theater performances (Grease, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, How to Succeed In Business...), he quickly found that the stage was a second home - and his parents encouraged him and were there for every moment.

Transitioning to community theater (Ritz Theater in Hawley, PA), he performed as much as he could, all the while learning his craft. But life changes, and soon he found himself with a beautiful family in Bloomsburg, PA - An amazing, supporting wife and three beautiful, talented boys. While he still performed - live performances of the longstanding The Coarse Grind Podcast and numerous musical engagements, the itch was still there. He finally took the leap to get "back on the boards" with BTE's Improv Troupe, and he looks forward to sharing his gifts (mediocre looks, awful sense of humor, etc.) with you all!

  • Michaela Tloczynski

    she/her/hers

Michaela Tloczynski is a Bloomsburg native. She spent 6 years in the Greater Philadelphia Area and State College, PA studying and performing in theatre and dance. She was introduced to Improv at West Chester University. Since then, her improv experiences include two years with the campus team, studying and performing Commedia Dell'Arte in Calabria, Italy, and a devised clown show with the Shoebox Company in Manayunk. She is married to her dreamy high school sweetheart and is a proud dog mom to two rescue pups. She's worked hard with her sister and family to found Wandering Brewtique, a local specialty coffee and beverage trailer. She is always running from one place to the next, so she needs Improv to stay sane and just laugh at herself (and others).

  • Nick Yanos

    Nick Yanos

Nick Yanos is a northeast PA native now residing in Bloomsburg with his wife and step-kid. Nick has been performing stand-up comedy since 2022. He has been in front of many audiences getting laughs for his conversational and manic style. Stand-up comedy has also developed his ability to think on the fly; coming up with snappy comebacks to audience members and fellow comics and developing humorous scenarios. BTE will be his first strictly improv gig and is excited to dive into performing with the rest of the troupe. Other than entertainment, Nick enjoys many outdoor activities, playing music, and being a dedicated step-father and husband.
