BTE’s financial support is derived not just through ticket sales, which account for 25% of our annual income, or special events and educational programming which account for an additional 30%, but also through corporate sponsorships, individual donations, community events and foundation and government grants.

This support allows Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble to bring art into the lives of so many in our community at affordable prices.  It allows us to achieve our mission – to awaken the imagination, provoke questions, and embolden the spirit.  By presenting, encouraging and inspiring creativity, BTE helps to make our community a vibrant and desirable place to live and work.

Please consider supporting Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble in its role of enhancing the lives of those it touches.

  • ·         Sophocles Circle ($10,000-$19,999)
  • ·         Brecht Circle ($5,000-$9,999)
  • ·         Moliere Circle ($2,500-$4,999)
  • ·         Chekhov Circle ($1000-$2499)
  • ·         Shaw Circle ($500-$999)
  • ·         Ibsen Circle ($250-$499)
  • ·         Williams Circle ($100-$249)
  • ·         Wilder Circle ($50-$99)
  • ·         Online listing ($25-$49)

Ensemble Circle members are listed in each of our production playbills and appear on our website.

The generosity of our annual giving donors extends well beyond financial support; donors enliven audiences, bring enthusiasm to special events, and help sustain the dynamic community interchange that makes BTE central to the arts in Bloomsburg and the region.

They understand that art matters!

Annual giving donations can be one time gifts or made throughout the year.  Many donors are choosing the option of automatic monthly donations through a bank account or credit card which spreads their donation out over a period of time and helps BTE with its budgeting process.

Project DisCovery

Our flagship educational program provides FREE matinees to high school students in the five-county region surrounding Bloomsburg—completely funded by the generous contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations, and corporations.

Since its inception in 1994, over 44,000 students have seen Project Discovery productions. It’s common that these performances are the first time students witness live theatre.

What your contribution makes possible:

Every $9.50 of your Project Discovery contribution ensures one student’s admission to professional theatre and helps us reach our program’s goals:

  • Make theatre available to all students regardless of financial status, academic standing, or location
  • Provide teachers with curriculum-based study guides, thereby enhancing their students’ theatre experience
  • Help students develop the well-rounded mind essential for success in today’s world
“There is an immediacy and intimacy between actor and audience that can only happen in live theatre.  For most of my students this was their first taste of live theatre and for many it will be the only one they will every attend.”
-Laura Hudak, Holy Cross High School
