BTE’s TreeFest extends hours for Students with Special Needs
Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble and the TreeFest committee would like to make available a time for children with special needs to truly enjoy the miracle that is TreeFest.
TreeFest will open our doors during “closed” hours to provide an opportunity to take in the two floors of over 130 trees with fewer people and less noise. Says BTE Development Director Cindy Schultz “these closed hours will make moving around easier and less stressful , and make TreeFest more enjoyable and magical for them.”
On Tuesday, November 29 from 9 am to 2 pm ,Wednesday, November 30 and Thursday, December 1 from 9 am to 3 pm, TreeFest invites children and students with special needs to visit TreeFest at no cost. Teachers, parents or caregivers as well as siblings are invited to join them.
Volunteers will be available to guide visitors if they need it. The Caldwell Consistory, where TreeFest is held, is handicapped accessible. Handicapped parking as well as general parking is available in the Consistory parking lot and the surrounding streets.
TreeFest, an annual holiday fundraiser for Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, is a winter wonderland of over 130 live, decorated Christmas trees. This year, TreeFest celebrates its 28th year in Bloomsburg. Regular hours for TreeFest are Friday, November 25 from 3 pm - 6 pm; Friday, December 2 from 5 pm – 8 pm; Saturday November 26 and December 3 from 10 am - 6 pm; Sunday November 27 and December 4 from 12 noon - 4 pm.
