Complete Contest Raffle Rules, Regulations, and Information
The Hamilton Raffle is being conducted by BTE, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 organization under the laws of the State of Pennsylvania.
Ticket purchaser must be 18 years of age or older to participate and must have a valid Social Security number.
There is no limit to the number of tickets one (1) person may purchase.
BTE Board members, ensemble, interns, staff and their spouses are not eligible to participate in this raffle.
Raffle tickets are $10.00 each. Raffle tickets may be purchased by credit card, cash, or checks. Should the purchaser’s check not be honored by the bank, the ticket will become void and withdrawn from the drawing.
By IRS declaration, ticket purchases for valuable prizes are not eligible for charitable tax deductions.
Odds of winning are 1:500.
Tickets may be purchased by the following methods:
• On the internet at www.bte.org
• In Person at the Alvina Krause Theatre and at Treefest at Caldwell’s Consistory
All ticket order forms must be received with full payment no later than 7:30PM on December 20, 2018 or before a total of 500 tickets have been sold, whichever comes first, to be entered into the drawing. BTE will not extend ticket sales beyond the current drawing date of 7:30PM on December 20, 2018.
Prize: One prize will be given away. First Prize: 2 tickets to Hamilton April 28, 2019 at 3 p.m., one night stay in New York City, New York, and $100 Visa gift card, total value at $1000.
Drawing will be held at the Alvina Krause Theatre on December 20, 2018. The winner will be determined by random drawing.
Winners need not be present to win. Winners will be notified by via phone and email within 1 day of the drawing, and will be posted on the BTE website.
If BTE has not sold by 8:00 am Eastern Time on November 1, 2018, at least 100 valid raffle tickets and received full payment therefore, BTE may, at its sole and absolute discretion, cancel the raffle and withdraw the prizes aforementioned or decide to delay the drawing until the minimum has been purchased. In such an event, BTE will contact all persons who made payment to identify if they do not want to participate in a delayed drawing or if the raffle is canceled or some other action.
The prize winner is solely responsible for all local, state and federal taxes, and all expenses incurred in claiming the prize. The Internal Revenue Service requires that any prizes valued at $600 or more be issued a Form W-2G, and requires that 25% of total winnings be withheld for federal taxes on prizes of $5,000 or more. The First Prize winner understands, acknowledges, and agrees that the First Prize winner is receiving a prize and will hereby release and discharge BTE, and any additional sponsors, their employees, agents, officers, directors and legal representatives and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses or expenses arising from or caused by the award of such prize, including, but not limited to the payment of any and all taxes that are due.
Prize must be claimed within 30 days of drawing. Any unclaimed prize after that date will constitute forfeiture and be transferred to BTE as a donation.
BTE, its Board of Directors, and its agents assume no liability for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, or entries without payment which will be deemed invalid and disqualified.
The decisions and rules of BTE are final on all matters concerning the raffle.
