The author of the original book Curious Incident, Mark Haddon, was born on October 28th, 1962 in Northampton, UK. He attended Merton College and the University of Edinburgh. In 1987 he published his first book, Gilbert’s Gobstopper, a children’s book. Curious Incident was published in 2003 and was his first book for adults as well as children. Haddon has won several awards for his writing including the Commonwealth Writer’s Prize for Best First Book. His work with people with developmental disabilities helped him with the characterization of Christopher. He now teaches writing at Oxford. His latest novel, published this year, is The Porpoise.

Simon Stephens is an English playwright. Born February 6th, 1971. he graduated from the University of York with a degree in History. Among his accomplishments are a stint teaching at the Young Writer’s Programme at the Royal Court Theatre in the West End and being named the inaugural Associate Playwright of Steep Theatre Company in Chicago. He has won Olivier and Pearson Awards for several of his plays, and his theatrical adaptation of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time won the Tony for Best Play in 2015. He currently lives in London with his family.
