About our education programs
A letter from Amy Rene Byrne, Education Director and Paula Henry, School Programs Director:
As a community-centered professional theatre in a rural region, BTE has always embraced education programs as one of the best ways to connect with our community. We believe in a thoroughly integrated approach which has become a cornerstone of our exemplary community relationships. We do not see “education” as an appendage to our work, but as a central co equal activity to performance. BTE’s education mission is to offer people of all ages a means to enhance individual creativity while gaining an appreciation and understanding of the power of the arts in their community and as a tool for social change.
What we offer
BTE offers a variety of theatre school classes, a high school theatre workshop day, specially priced student matinees for schools and groups, Project Discovery where schools may attend certain shows at no cost, and Theatre In the Classroom where BTE visits dozens of schools over several states to bring an interactive and educational show to elementary and middle school students.
